We are so fortunate to have incredible business mentors here in the Queenstown Lakes region. What makes them all the more better is their desire to share knowledge with budding entrepreneurs, giving you the chance to learn from their trials and tribulations. From lawyers to marketing professionals, mindset coaches, accountants and much more – LIFT OFF! students become part of the local business eco-system from the get-go.

2.     Create a clear business plan 

Carving out a clear business plan is one of the first things you will learn on your LIFT OFF! journey. This is an key part of building a Startup and it’s essential to get it all laid out right from the beginning. Once you’ve got your foundation in place you will use it like a map to navigate you through each stage of starting and managing your business. 

3.     You can do it anywhere, anytime

 One of the many great things about LIFT OFF! (and all of our onlines courses!) is that you can do it ANYWHERE, ANYTIME… we record the live sessions and upload them each week. Although we do encourage you to attend the live Zoom sessions, if you can, we know it’s not always possible. Especially if you’re juggling other commitments. Once the session is uploaded it’s available to access whenever you want, alongside the rest of the course material. If you have questions about a live session you didn’t attend, you can easily get in touch with one of our savvy business advisors and they’ll steer you in the right direction. 

4.     Figure out your strengths and weaknesses 

It’s common for the founder of a Startup to wear many hats; marketing, HR, accounts, logistics and much more. During LIFTOFF! we help you figure out where your strengths lie, so you can hone in on them and make them work to your advantage. But we also figure what your weaknesses are, so you can work out where you might need to outsource certain aspects of your business. 

5.     Accountability  

Most weeks you will be required to complete different activities throughout the duration of LIFT OFF! This not only gives our business advisors a chance to see where you’re at with your business plan, but also hold students accountable on their progression. Half way through the programme we also host an ‘in-person’ accountability session which is a chance to catch-up with fellow LIFT OFF! students and talk about where you’re at.
